 The Directed
Creativity
Short Course

A guided tour of the site that will give first time users a self-directed education in directed creativity. A great way to let your colleagues learn about directed creativity on their own terms.

 The Theory
of Creativity
and the Mind

Directed creativity is based on the modern research on the workings of the mind. We will distill this research and present the key findings and theories. Serious people will want to know!

 Creativity
Calculator(TM)

We are developing a "creativity calculator" that will further aid your creative endeavors. Punch a button, get a stimulus for an idea.

 Applications
Sections

Directed creativity is not an academic pursuit; it is meant to be applied in business. We will describe special uses of directed creativity in health care, reengineering, and other situations.

 Contests and
Contributions

DirectedCreativity.com is meant to be an interactive, two-way street. We will give you plenty of opportunities to try out the tools of creative thinking and contribute your ideas. No prizes, just the joy of knowing that you can do it.

topOur Web Site Design Rules

This is an Internet web site for serious, business-oriented people. Our key design rule is, therefore, to emphasize content over glitzy format.

In contrast to many other web pages, our graphics will be few, simple, and quickly loading. The same graphics will be used on several pages, so you only have to download them once.

To further speed you along, overall file sizes will be kept small. All pages are tested on Adobe(R) PageMill(TM) and the Dr. HTML(TM) web site for coding accuracy and download times of around 30 seconds or less at 14.4 kbps (so, they will download even faster at higher speeds). Of course, your actual download times will vary due to factors that we cannot control associated with your access hardware. But we assure you, we are committed to getting you the information you need--fast.

All pages are designed to look good on small monitors; 640x480 pixels. Of course, they will also look great on larger monitors. You should never have to horizontally scroll to see information.

We supply navigation bars and menus at several points in our pages. You are never more than a click or two away from any page on the site.

The site design is targeted for the Netscape Navigator(TM) and Microsoft Internet Explorer(TM) browsers. We also test the pages with Mosaic(R) and the old America OnLine(R) internet browser, but some versions of these browsers do funny things to web pages. (Of course, if these are the only browsers you use, you may not know how nice web pages look on the other browsers.)

Because we keep our graphics small, you should turn on graphic loading in your browser. But, even if you don't, our pages are tested to assure that they work with text only.

The site is constructed by Paul Plsek and Jonathan Plsek on a Macintosh using Adobe PageMill, supplemented with hand HTML coding. The site itself resides on a UNIX server maintained by IDT, an internet service provider.top

DotPlease let us know what you think of our design.

DotPlease alert us to any problems you encounter.

DotPlease tell us if you think the pages look strange on your browser and hardware.
